Part III -- Sanosuke's Heart 

    Tsubame sighed as she sat at the table.  She'd more than half hoped Megumi would come in with her, if not right behind her, but there had been no sign of her as she threaded her way back through the crowd.  If anything, the place was packed even tighter than before, so that wasn't very surprising.  Still, she pointed out to her friends that she had been able to hear some of the louder singers even down the block.

"I used to travel in the shadows
And I never found the nerve to try and walk up to you

No one had noticed the darkhaired woman who had arrived in the shadows of the doorway almost as soon as he had begun singing until she stepped into the light.  Even the perky blonde stood almost at attention as the figure approached her and handed her a slip of paper.
